En Route planned stops as below @ R300/stop + R6/km done extra, you pay your own entrance. Based on OR Tambo Airport to Sun City
Why are the rates not just the same? Pretty simple - I'm charging you for what you get. Take a Black Rhino transfer as an example - it is about 40 km past Sun City, so extra x2, so 80 km additional one way. Total time past Sun City till back is about 80 minutes. So if I spend more time and more Km that cost me money, you can pay for some of it.
If you want to stop off a couple of hours, normally 3 - 3,5, at Lesedi, De Wildt Cheetah Research Centre or the Elephant Sanctuary I will charge an additional flat fee of R300 iso the standard industry rate of between R250/h and R300/hour. I grab my laptop & work, but I do lose about an hour & that is what I charge you for. This is a good option as it is much more affordable than a day tour there, as you pay your own entrance. Other destinations like the Lion Park, Rhino and Lion Park or Cullinan diamond mine are also options, just ask. I'm fine with 10 km out the way, over that please add R6/km as well.
29 April 2019 - I have not updated all the entrance fees below..most are 2018, add 10%

I've been asked twice recently why Johannesburg to Sun City transfers are so expensive. They are actually not, see below, and my rate is one of the best available. I believe my return rate is unbeatable, but please advise if you find something better. Car rental will probably always be the most affordable option, so either rent a car - otherwise just pay up :)
In 1995 a sedan transfer from Jo'burg to Sun City cost R750 one way, and from the airport operators charged R900 to R2000 one way. If you were travel wise, you might have negotiated down to the R750, but not less. The standard rate is now R2500 one way, and up to R4000 one way for 2 persons. The fuel price in mid 1995 was at R1,82/l., and May 2019 fuel is at R16.67l. So though in 24 years transfers increased by 3X, fuel actually increased by 9X... Another yardstick you can use is that we used to pay 0,40 - 0,45 US$ per liter, we are now paying 1,20 US$ per liter. So all costs in SA have increased gradually but radically over the years, just ask any local. Operating & living costs have become really high, and taxes have increased to roughly double to what they were in 1995, wrt specific increases, additional levies, tolls, licensing fees, sin taxes, petrol levies & anything else the Vultures can think off.
Another yardstick would be to compare the transfer rate to the accommodation rate at the Palace, most affordable room. In 1995 I believe the rate was about R1600, as I know in 1997 the rate was R1980 as we stayed there - so in 1995 a 1 way transfer was about half of the room rate. April 2019 the most affordable Palace room is going at R8200, so a transfer is only about 30% of the room rate. So however you look at it the transfer rates have stayed down, as competition is pretty hectic. But if you don't like the rate it's easy as you are in charge of your wallet, and you do have the car rental alternative!
Passenger liability insurance used to be carried on my vehicles, at R5 Million per incident, but I now carry an Excess if loss cover of R20 Million instead. When you are shopping around to save a R100, the price of 3 croissants in Europe, maybe take in consideration that you might not be covered by some "cheap" Operators. And for driving on SA roads, you need to be very cautious - we have one of the highest accident/mortality rates in the world!Distances from Sun City: Scheduled Shuttles available normally at a one way charge, R90pp from Bakubung & Kwa by the lodge themselves, or R310 for 2 persons and up from others with Lengau Tours. I am willing to do local Pilanesberg transfers at a normally more affordable rate, but will only commit if available 72 hours before. My interest is doing tours in the Park, as .I'm not a driver! If I've transferrred a client to Sun City area, I will of course be willing to do his/her local transfers though if possible, and if booked in advance.
