Children under 6 years will not be permitted on Lodge drives.

JUNIOR RANGERS
Legacy Junior Rangers program is available for all children aged 6-12 years. Activities are geared around
natural resource protection, environmental education and responsible recreation offering a special opportunity
to explore the Pilanesberg National Park.

Included: 1 free drive per adult/day for hotel guests that paid above rates. Bushbraai only every Wednesday and Saturday night for all hotel & timeshare guests - weather permitting, min 30 pax total; Timeshare residents have to pay for the game drive though. VAT. 1% tourism levy.
Excluded: Sun City entrance & shuttle. Game walk on request. Drinks. Game drives R550pp. Extra game drives. Transfers to/from Gauteng
Check-in time is 14:30 on day of arrival, check-out time is 10:00 on day of departure.
Game drives - R550pp/3 hours 13yo and older, 6 - 12yo R275/child, no under 6 yo on game drives., Game drives & Bush Braai - min 30 pax
Game drive & Bush Braai if staying elsewhere subject to availability - R900pp. Need to be booked and paid for in advance, and you will need to make your own way to the Lodge and be there 15 min before departure.

Game drives & Bush Braai can also be arranged on any other evening however these are subject to a minimum of 30 people being booked (groups less than 30 are still required to pay for 30).
For a Bush Braai Only on other nights for a group less than 30 a surcharge of R2500 is applicable if no other groups are booked, and your group is alone at the boma. The transfer to the boma is R30 per person.

Now as for Bakubung Bush Lodge, Bakubung's vehicles and the Bakubung rangers:
Situated very close to Sun City in the south this is most definately the most popular lodge. Accommodation is in hotel rooms and there are some timeshare units as well. You will probably forgive the often tunnel vision service as the restaurant looks out over a watering hole, and occasionally you get lucky while having a bite. Reception & Game Department very competent & helpful. Seasonal frogs might keep you awake a bit. The 100 & 500 block have a view into the Park, but the 300 (middle) block is behind the pool. The best rooms at the side blocks are actually the ground units, as at most upstairs units the view is partly obscured by the trees. The cons for the ground units though, is that there will always be people walking past between the room and the fence. 6 guides, 3 senior and 3 junior, using large open top trucks. The senior rangers are most competent, the juniors decent. Book drives direct on arrival, and make sure you get the time right. Be at reception 15 mmin before.They also have the sightings over the last week, month and/or year accessable on PC. Note that the drives are for the Lodge residents & not open for the general public, except on very short notice space permitting, i.e. 1 hour before departure.
