On a more serious note it has come to my attention that 3 persons in the backpacking industry in South Africa have over the last year infringed my trademark as well as my copyright. Word of Mouth, Travel in Africa and Adventure Travel Africa are all trademarks recognised by South Africa's Trademark Law. All 3 are guilty of passing off as Travel in Africa and Adventure Travel Africa. I have instructed my attorney to take legal action against these 3. 1 party outside the backpacking industry will be next in line. This will be quite costly for them as this is a Supreme Court matter and a precedent has already been set - of all people against me! Lonely Planet Publications (Pty) Ltd vs Jaco Rautenbach. And I didn't even use Lonely Planet as a keyword in my source code. All I had was a link. That constituted as passing off.
I'd like to add that certain booking agents, hostels, operators and webmasters are blatantly and mala fide disregarding the SA Trademark Law. I do not approve. And believe me, the wheel is turning.
